I sure enjoy Christmas. Christmas though should be about Christ’s birth. I like to celebrate Christmas by enjoying the Candlelight Service with all the Christmas music, listening to the Christmas story being read, by going Christmas caroling, checking out the Christmas lights at the park, being with family, and giving gifts to to others.
Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost. He ministered to those in need.
I want my kids to understand that Christmas is not about receiving gifts but about celebrating Christ. Although we cannot do things for Him in person the Bible says “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Please take time through the holidays to do something special for someone else. I know it may be a little cold to take my kids out tomorrow night. But it is more important for them to get the true meaning of Christmas than to keep them in.
