The Bible says that we can know for sure where we will go when we die:

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” - 1John 5:13

What must be done?
1. We Must Realize That We Are All Sinners
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23

Each one of us as a sinner does not deserve heaven. We have all fallen short of what God demands.

2. We Must Understand That There Is A Penalty For Sin
“For the wages of sin is death….”
Romans 6:23

Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and hell, separation from God forever. If we continue in our sin, we shall die without Christ and be without God forever.

There Are Two Deaths: Physical and Spiritual

“And death and Hell were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.”
Revelation 20:14

The first death is our physical death. Some day we are all going to die.

Who Will Experience This Death?
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and warmongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Revelation 21:8

Each one of us has told a lie sometime in our life. Because of this we are all imperfect and deserve hell.

3. We Must Realize That Only Christ Can Pay That Penalty.
All of our sins were laid on Christ at the cross. He paid our sin debt for us. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, and He arose from the dead. He is alive forevermore.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

4. We Must Realize That Eternal Life Is A Gift
“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

God offers us the free gift of eternal life. We can never gain this gift by our own efforts. It is the gift of God that can only be accepted.

5. We Must Accept His Gift
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:9,10

The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13

Will you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior by confessing to Him with your mouth in prayer?
Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and that there is a penalty for sin. Thank you for paying that penalty. I now accept your gift of eternal life. Forgive my sins, and I accept you now as my Savior. Help me live for you from this day forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
